I had knee surgery 6 months ago and although my initial pain is better I have stiffness pain that is unbearable after sitting for too long. I asked my doctor how long do I have to suffer everytime I stand up and he said everyone is different and had no idea but to give it about a year... I take ibruprofen everyday and it seems to take the edge off but i still use percocet when I am in real pain.
Usually after a successful procedure pain should be gone after a few weeks.
Perhaps there is blood collecting in it or you may have an infection suggest you have it checked out
there is often some discomfort around the area where any invasive procedure has taken place. however if it does not clear up or if you are feverish you should see your doctor about it.
Had mine 3/13 and still painful and hurts at night hard to sleep and get stiff easily and hard to walk far. It’s been 2 1/2 months had meniscus cut out. It bothers me all the time
He or she usually can return to work or other normal activities within two months of the surgery.
not long
how long do seasons last on earth
How long is a tinncaps game
I happen to suffer from slight knee pain and in the ankles and the wrists, it is not so much about the pain but about the constant irritable feeling all the time and crackling sounds. Doctor suggested that i start taking supplements "glucosamine and condroitin". Acc. to him some people have arthiritis early on in life. and so it is good to start taking supplements that would aid the joints in remaining lubricated.
I had the meniscus removed form my knee this last surgery, they were to cut a torn piece away but they removed it. This is my 2nd reocntructive surgery, can I not have any meniscus in my knee and still play baseball this spring and summer? And if I do what is the long term effect to my knee without the meniscui?
long as your fit and can past the tests
The best way to find out exactly how long can you run after having knee surgery would be to speak with your physician. They are the best source to letting you know when to run again.
Most knee revision operations take about three hours to perform and are similar to knee replacement procedures.
Knee stiffness after a total knee replacement varies from patient to patient, along with recovery time. Stiffness commonly disappears after the initial inflammation from the surgery subsides. In some people, stiffness may last through all recovery and rehabilitation, possibly for months.
I had cataract surgery both eyes one week apart after last surgery now have double vision in the last eye done .Is this comon how long will this last?
About 3 to 4 months
Arthroscopic surgery has allowed orthopedic surgeons to really branch out in recent years and get better ideas of why and how injuries occur in joints. Orthopedics is the study of musculoskeleton injuries that occur due to infections, cancer, sports-related injuries, or degenerative conditions. Arthroscopic surgeons have been specially trained to be able to closely examine the area where a person is experiencing pain and remedy that problem through either surgical techniques or by other means of relief. Orthopedics has a long history of examining such injuries as carpal tunnel, hand fractures, knee/hip replacements, and shoulder-related injuries. Only within the past 20 to 30 years has the practice of using arthroscopic procedures become prevalent in orthopedic examinations. As a general rule, arthroscopy is usually concerned with just injuries to the joints, more specifically the shoulder and the knee. After meeting with an orthopedic surgeon, a patient’s likelihood for relief from minimally invasive arthroscopic proceedings is assessed. Cartilage tears are usually the best candidates to respond to some level of arthroscopy. Slight tears in the meniscus or ACL/MCL in the knee are the prime candidates for receiving arthroscopic procedures. Rotator cuff injuries and inflammatory diseases in the shoulder can also be remedied by orthopedic surgeons. Arthroscopic procedures can also remove tiny bone fragments that have become loose in the knee or shoulder areas of the body. By using numerous small incisions instead of making one large incision, the orthopedic surgeon can examine the different parts of the injured area while still maintaining a minimally invasive way of remedying the problem. A small light will illuminate the area allowing for the surgeon to perform the necessary procedures. While there are still the inherent risks in arthroscopic surgery as there are in other surgeries, the fact that orthopedic surgeons use such small amounts of invasive techniques make it less risky than a normal surgery would be. Some effects of having arthroscopic surgery are blood clotting in the area of the surgery, infections in the area being examined by the surgeon, and general trouble with anesthesia.
Ask your doctor or surgeon. Only that person can tell you how long before you can drive when you have had any kind of surgery.
