my miniature dachshund is a rabbit ( aka the runt of a miniature dachshund litter ). she is 4 inches tall and 1 foot long. she weighs 9 pounds. most mini doxies get a lot bigger than that like.. 6 inches tall and 1 1/2 feet long. ( that's a lot bigger for a mini dachshund ) what they weigh is all up to what kind of dog food you give them. my dachshund eats wet food and diamond sports dog dry food which i highly recamend.
Mini Doxies live anywhere from 10 to 15 years. On rare occasions they can live even longer than that. As long as their weight is kept in check and not too much strain is put on their back Doxies have a good chance of living a long life.
Dachshunds live 14-16 years. (of course, it can be longer, but that is the average)

A Dachshund can be 14-18 inches (35-45cm) Basically, a Dachshund has different sizes. For example, a mini is a small one, and looks a lot smaller than a regular one. A tweenie, (which just happens to be the size of mine) is in between, and can grow about 7 in. off the ground, my estimation. Last, there is a full. Wich can grow very big, but i cannot say how. I have never seen a full one. I know, its sad. Answered by-davidarchuletafan101 and whoever else wrote the first part. :)
It ranges from dachshund to Dachshund depends if the dachshund is Regular or mini and such...
They're because the dog used to be used to hunt. The standard size dachshund was bred to scent, chase, and flush out badgers and other burrow-dwelling animals, while the miniature dachshund was developed to hunt smaller prey such as rabbits.

It depends on the type of Dachshund u get. Miniature are smaller and don't get as long as a regular. Regulars can be a little more then a foot when full grown and miniatures can be bout a foot or a little smaller. Thanks for the great question! By KAM
If there are any in your area, veterinarian's offices are the BEST place to ask. Make a few phone calls and see if any of them have breeders as clients.
