Throughout their course they lie behind the peritoneum, the lining of the abdomen and pelvis, and are attached to it by connective tissue.

∙ 14y agoThe previous information about the diameter of a ureter is incorrect. Having recently passed a kidney stone, I have researched the answer, and found that the average diameter of a ureter is 3-4 millimeters.
