the hormone can stay in your system for up to 8 weeks. this can make a PT show up positive.

Speaking from my own experiences. I had two miscarriages. Your hormones should return to normal within a week or 2. My hormones returned to normal within a week.

Occasionally the baby dies a while before the miscarriage and the hormones will have almost disappeared by the time you actually miscarry. It all depends on the reason for the miscarriage and most of the time no-one knows the reason.

If you still have a positive pregnancy test a week after a suspected miscarriage what does this mean?

It means that there is still the presence of the pregnancy hormone (hCG). Home pregnancy tests give positive results when they detect the presence of hCG. It can take days to several weeks for a woman's hCG levels to return to baseline after a miscarriage; it all depends on how far along she was. Taking home pregnancy tests in the first few weeks after a miscarriage is not a reliable way to check for pregnancy because of all of the false negative results, due to the lingering pregnancy hormone in the woman's system.

After a miscarriage and home test is still positive is it possible that you are still pregnant?

Wait a few weeks to take a pregnancy test after a miscarriage. It will take a while for the pregnancy hormone to get out of your system, so a test will show up positive even if you are not pregnant. Hope this helps. And I am sorry for your loss.

Is it possible to be pregnant if your period was two weeks late with blood clots but when you took a hpt it was positive?

it is likely that you had a spontaneous miscarriage, which means you were pregnant but miscarried and that's why your hpt came out positive (the pregnancy hormone needs a while to get out of your system after having miscarried)

Will a pregnancy test show negative if you miscarried?

Pregnancy tests simply "look" for the presence of a hormone that is present when a pregnancy has occurred. After a miscarriage, a pregnancy test may remain positive for a while until all of that hormone has disappeared below the level the test needs to be positive. A blood (serum) pregnancy test (that you can obtain at a physician's office) can tell about how far along a pregnancy is, and this can be compared to how far along the person should be; the test results will drop in number over time if a miscarriage occurs until it reaches 0. How long it takes the hormone to leave the system is highly variable from several days to several weeks. Hope this helps! Dr. B.

Can getting a tattoo cause a miscarriage?

No, tattoo's don't cause miscarriage. Doctors suggest you wait until after having the baby due to your compromised immune system during pregnancy can delay healing or cause infection.

If you had a miscarriage 2 days ago and tested positive in pregnecy testis it right?

I'm sorry but probably not, hcg th pregnancy hormone stays in your system for at least a couple of weeks and can give you a false positive.

What can make a pregnancy test positive if you are not pregnant?

I don't think anything can to be honest. For a pregnancy test to be positive you have to have the HCG hormone in your system, this hormone is only in your system when you are pregnant so if it's positive then i think you are pregnant.

What is the HCG in the female reproductive system?

Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin is pregnancy hormone. Pregnancy tests are designed to detect the presence of the pregnancy hormone called human chorionic gonadotrophin (hCG, the hormone produced by the developing placenta) in urine. The hormone hCG is mostly concentrated in the urine that is discharged upon waking up in the morning. This is the best time to use the test. Can a blood test say ur still pregnant after you've just found out your miscarrying I went to the DR to check on my baby cause i was bleeding the blood test said i was still i miscarried that day?

Hcg or the pregnancy hormone stays in your system anywhere from 24 hours to a month after a miscarriage depending on how far along you were and reason for the miscarriage. This can cause false positives on home pregnancy tests and on blood tests.Your Dr should have a made a follow up appointment for you in the next few days to few weeks.
