As with many things, it depends. If the baby is fully breast-fed with no supplementary bottles the periods may not return for months. sometimes they return a month after the baby is bornn. And every doctor has seen a woman who was pregnant again at her post-natal check before ever having aperiod. If you are having sex and don't want to have another baby (yet) use contraception.
