If you put it on him prior to the bath, not likely. Read the label. Some are water proof, some are not. Give your dog a bath, wait until he's dry and then apply the flea treatment.
I have been told to wait till the next day to put it on after a bath... Apparently, this is because the flea meds are released through the dogs oil glands, and you wash the oil away when you bathe your dog.
I have also noticed that, even though it is water proof, it's not always soap proof... some of them seem to be less effective if you give your dog a bath, say, halfway or so through the month. Someone once suggested "non-detergent" soap, but I have yet to find such a thing... I usually just give him a hose down if he's that dirty, or spot wash him, avoiding the application sites as much as possible.
Yes that is what i would do. The flea med is for preventing the flea investation on animals
Improved Answer:
If your cat had a flea bath, she does not need flea medications for a certain period of time. Ask the place you took her to to get the flea bath how long until it wears off. You do not need to give her flea medications until then. Although the above was correct in saying flea medication is for the prevention of fleas on your cat, it is not good for her to give her too much medication.
Yes, but you may wash the flea medicine off, if it is a liquid that is placed on the skin of the animal.
You should read the package instructions. It should tell you there. I always wait until the dog is dry.
It depends. You have to see the actual medication. It states in the label whether you can bathe the cat or not.
Put the flea medicine on when the dog is completely dry.
Depends on the treatment. Read the directions, or check with a vet.
Yes. You rinsed the shampoo off so its not there any more. The flea pill will continue the good work.
you get some medacation or give it a bath with flea shampoo
Why not try flea powder or give your dog a bath using flea shampoo to get rid of your dog's fleas?
You give flea medication by first clicking shop on the tabs above. Then you buy it with either foogems or foodollars. And lastly you go on your pets profile and if it says they have not been treated by fleas then just give them the medication you bought.
You SHOULD NOT use dog flea and tick shampoo on yourself as it can give you severe headaches dizziness nausea for up to 3 days after use. It can also mess with your breathing as well if you are asthmatic. try dawn soap and HUMAN bug repellent.
You use a flea repellent spray. You could also take them to the vet and let them use a anti flea shampoo. Before they get fleas, you should give them some type of medicine to prevent fleas.
Your veterinarian should have the appropriate medication to treat for fleas. It is best to check with him/her before buying any over the counter flea treatments. Some OTC flea medications can be potentially toxic to the animal (ie: Hartz brand).
fleas. i would give a flea bath and/or flea medicine for a puppy. make sure the medicine is for the correct weight and the shampoo for the flea bath is very gentle for the ppuppy.
Guinea pigs can be bathed with baby shampoo, but they can't be bathed with other human shampoos because they could contain ingredients and substances that can irritate, damage, or dry out a guinea pig's skin.
You should probably ask your vet for advice on that.
I prefer to use a special shampoo for small animals think it is by Johnson and Johnson the one i use it is very mild and safe to use on guinea pigs. never use human, dog or cat shampoos on guinea pigs.
Your vet can give you flea medication. Also bathing your chihuahua with flea soap. And combing your chihuahua out with a flea comb...fill a cup up with warm water and a little Dawn dishwashing liquid. Keep dipping the comb in the water when you comb your dog, the Dawn will kill fleas on contact.
The first thing involved in giving flea treatment to a dog is to give them a bath. Find a shampoo that is right for your pet. You may need to read the label to make sure it will fit that type of dog. You should always start at the dog's neck and work downward. Make sure to shampoo their entire body and rinse thoroughly.
