It all depends on how long you have been taking the pain medicine. Usually, depending on a persons' weight, the drugs should clear your system no longer than 7 days. I have personally seen painkillers clear out of someones' body in as short as 48 hours.

Is Oxycodone in the same family as Hydrocodone?

Yes and no. Both are narcotics for relieving pain. However, Oxycodone has a higher potency than Hydrocodone. Oxycodone is found in Hydrocodone, yet Hydrocodone is cut with acetominophen (tylenol) as well. Oxycodone alone is stronger than Hydrocodone, and in a perscription is generally a higher dose. for example, a usual perscription strength of hydrocodone is 7.5/650. this means that there is 7.5mg of oxycodone, and 650mg of acetominophen. Oxycodone perscriptions will have a single number, say 30mg. this means the tablet is simply 30mg of oxycodone. If you're a patient who needs the pills for pain relief, keep them locked up. If you're a recreational user, be careful and dont take your parents pills.

Is oxycodone IR and OxycodoneAPAP the same medications except one has acetaminophen?

one is percocet; the other is the generic of percocet 5mg/325mg acetaminophen. they have the same chemical make up of oxycodone(5mg) and tylenol/acetaminaphen (325mg). APAP is an abbreviation for acetaminophen

Do percocet's contain opiates?

It contains hydrocodone, which is a synthetic form of codeine, which is a narcotic pain killer, along with Tylenol (or acetaminophen) which helps boost the pain killing capabilities of the hydrocodone.

What is the difference between hydrocodone and percodan?

Percocet is the brand name for an Oxycodone/Tylenol combination pain drug. Percodan is Oxycodone with Aspirin. They are DEA Schedule 2 controlled substances, meaning there are more restrictions on prescribing and dispensing. The dosage indicates in milligrams the amount of each in the pill; for example, I use Percocet 10/325's, which means there are 10mg's of Oxycodone and 325mg's of Tylenol in each. Oxycodone is also prescribed in a time-release version, which is known by its brand name of OxyContin. It lasts from 8-12 hours. Hydrocodone is actually listed on both DEA Schedule 2 and 3, but they're a bit different in composition and strength. Dihydrocodeinone is the base for Schedule 2 Hydrocodone; Hydrocodone and Isoquinolone alkaloid combination is the Schedule 3 version, and is the base drug for most common prescriptions, which are Hydrocodone/analgesic mixes (Hydrocodone/Tylenol, etc.). The way to tell is by your prescriptions; Schedule 2 drugs cannot have refills, be called into a pharmacy, require new prescriptions for every new fill, and the patient can only get a 30 day supply at a time. Vicodin is the brand name for Hydrocodone and Isoquinolone alkaloid. Of the 2, preparations with Oxycodone are stronger in relation to similar dosages (e.g., 5mg Oxycodone is stronger than 5mg Hydrocodone / Isoquinolone). On the opiate comparison chart, Hydrocodone is only 6 times as strong as Codeine, where Oxycodone is 15-20 times as strong. Percocet is typically prescribed for short term severe pain (post surgery, e.g.) that is expected to heal, or for long term chronic pain patients as a primary or breakthrough drug used with a stronger opiate. Those who are taking it long term are typically referred to Pain Management. Vicodin is prescribed for lower level pain, either short term or for a few weeks.

What is the difference between oxycocet and oxycodone?

These two drugs are similar, but NOT the same. Hydrocodone is the generic name for Vicodin, Norco, Lortab and about 30 others. It is a narcotic analgesic, and not quite as strong as Oxycodone. It's also SLIGHTLY less regulated i.e. it can be CALLED IN to a pharmacy by a physician. It can be habit forming. Vicodin and the rest are a combo of hydrocodone and acetaminophen (Tylenol). Oxycodone is also a narcotic analgesic, and also can be habit-forming. It can also be a combo of acetaminophen and oxycodone (generic) such as Percocet, Tylox, Roxilox. It is SLIGHTLY more regulated i.e. it CANNOT be called in to a pharmacy: you have to have a physical written prescription from a physician. Because of its potential for abuse and dependence, doctors tend to prescribe Vicodin rather than Percocet. Oxycodone can be prescribed as a single drug preparation ( minus the acetaminophen.)

How long does it take to get oxycodone out of your system and pass a pee test?

yes, all opiates will produce a positive result. the liver metabolizes hydrocodone into oxycodone metabolite thus showing positive result for an opiate even though the person was taking hydrocodone. this is the standard for detection of hydrocodone and oxycodone. furthermore, morphine is tested with a positive result detecting codeine. however, methadone is metabolized a little differently and thus tests will show positive for methadone if testing is done on methadone differentially. if a test looking for opiates in general, then it will be positive for any and all opiates at that time. likewise, other tests can specifically look for heroin, morphine, and methadone. i do not believe testing differentiates b/t hydrocodone and oxycodone because of the aforementioned so the answer to your question is yes.(for use only as general advice, please use further personal research to validate and confirm these statements.)
