Jesus spent 40 days in the desert being "tempted" by Satan. Tempted is in quotation marks because he never actually gave in, but had to endure what all humans face throughout their lifetime.
also Satan is the DEVIL you know the red things with horns anyway he went in to prove and see that he was the son of god.
