I have been using Celexa for several years. My doctor placed me on 20 mg. at first and I began to feel a gradual increase in well-being over a couple of weeks. This is not an all-at-once medication but symptoms of being negative all of the time and, also, of grouchiness and depression will begin to go away. It may be that you will need an increase of your meds. and the doctor should be told if your symptoms aren't quite what they should be and he will decide whether or not to increase the amount you're taking. I have never had a side effect from Celexa and feel that it has been the right one for me. I am in my late 50's and have been using Celexa for about 6 1/2 years.

Celexa has a 36 hour half life...meaning it will take 36 hours for 50% of the drug to leave your system and another 36 hours for it to be fully out of your system. Read more at the Related Link.

ACTUALLY: It's one half-life to reach 50%, 2 half-lives to reach 75%, 3 half-lives to reach 87.5%, 3.3 half-lives to reach 90%, 4 half-lives to reach 93.75%

You need a strong anti-androgen topical that will stop hormones attacking your hair follicles. I say topical to avoid any nasty side affects. The strong topical anti-androgen on the market is Androvex. It'll give you regrowth and no side affects.

What happens when you stop Celexa cold turkey?

if you stop cold turkey then you will experience the same side effects as you had when you first started on it (headaches, tiredness etc) for about 2 weeks it is far better to lower your dose to the lowest (10mg) over a couple of weeks and then maybe have one day off and one day on until you stop altogether this gradual approach will ensure your withdrawal experience is as pleasant as possible :)
