Once the meat is fully thawed and at room temperature the max is four hours. Because the meat is frozen you have alittle extra time while it thaws. It is hard to tell when the meat has reached room temp so it's best to thaw it in the refridgerator.

Frozen meat should not be allowed to thaw at room temperature due to the possibility of bacterial growth as portions of it warm up.

Meat can be quick-thawed in the package under running cold water or it can be thawed in the microwave. If using either of these methods, the meat should be cooked immediately after thawing. The recommended method of thawing is to accomplish that in the refrigerator.
