How long will it take for period to return after stopping the pill?

Answer:

Answer

Hello,

When you stop taking birth control pills you will experience a withdrawal bleeding which may consist of any of the following:

  • Spotting of blood in underwear.

  • Brown vaginal discharge.

  • Brown (old) blood when you wipe or in underwear.

  • Normal period bleeding.

  • Light vaginal bleeding.

  • Red or pinkish coloured blood in underwear when you wipe.

After you experience any of the above, your period may arrive within a few days to 6 weeks after the withdrawal bleeding. Sometimes it may arrive 8 weeks after withdrawal bleeding. It's different in every woman.
