∙ 15y agoThat depends on the individual and many factors that are not answerable here. Suffice it to say that it can be long enough for them to become thoroughly miserable. If they are fortunate, it won't be too long at all.

If you simply "shut off" a healthy liver, the person might live for a few hours, but no longer.
