∙ 15y agoNOO for the Love of God, Do not Take Ipecac, im writing this and im still suffering from the effects, its not worth it, even if your bulimic, anorexic or what ever, the suffering is way worse than the desired goal, i took ipcac today at 2 00 p.m , And 5 hours later im still vomiting and sick to my stomach, its terrible, cant eat, drink and all day your in suffrage, time right now is, 7;25.

Ipecac normally takes 20-30 minutes to work, although an individual with long-term bulimia can have thrown their entire digestive system into a slow down. Ipecac can kill you, even if you don't have bulimia. It is only for use when the poison you've taken outweighs the possible damage the poison will do. This is because ipecac itself damages the heart. Because ipecac causes violent vomiting, there is a higher than normal possibility that you can aspirate vomit into your lungs, causing you to choke and die, or get pneumonia. It can cause seizures. If you are a bulimic, both of the above are risks. Especially the heart damage, because chances are you have already damaged your heart. But if your electrolytes are imbalanced, the loss of potassium that kind of vomiting will do can give you a heart attack. Even regular purging from bulimia can cause a heart attack from electrolyte imbalance, but with ipecac you cannot stop the vomiting. It will not simply end when the food is gone.
