One would think that if a hole is drilled, eventually we will reach the other side of the earth. But actually doesnot happen. The earth's crust is supposed to be made of molten iron at a very high temperature and also the acceleration due to gravity, g, is zero at the centre of the earth.

So, most probably the chances are that if an object is able to reach the centre of the earth (assuming that it is not burnt in the high temperature), the cbject will stay at the centre of the earth as acceleration due to gravity is zero.

You would also create the largest volcano ever, resulting in the destruction of the planet. Drilling a hole that deep (literally thousands of miles) would release all the magma pressure deep in the Earth. BOOM!

Nothing in particular.

The core of the Earth, geologists like to say, is made up of pure nickel and iron alloy. By which we mean it's made up of some random mixture of elements, nobody knows what exactly, but because of:

1. which parts of the seismic signals from earthquakes can go through which parts of it,

2. the speed of seismic signals through it,

3. the overall density of the Earth,

4. the Earth's geomagnetic field,

5. the fact that many meteorites are made of iron and nickel, so if the Earth was made up of huge numbers of meteorites clumping together, it should have a lot of iron and nickel in it as well,

we're pretty sure nickel and iron make up almost all of the core. We also know, from the seismic signals, that the outer part of the core is liquid, and the inner part is solid. We can calculate the temperatures and pressures down there, and sure enough an iron-nickel mix at that temperature would be liquid higher up, but at the very core itself the pressure is high enough to force it to be solid in spite of the high temperature.

The thing is, all of that stuff is down there because it is HEAVY. Geologists think that at some time after most of the stuff that made the Earth had clumped together, the whole mess melted and the heaviest materials sank to the center under their own weight. In any case, as a planet-wide average, Earth has a density of about 5.5 grams/cc; in other words, a chunk of Average Planet Earth would weigh 5.5 times as much as the equivalent volume of water. At the surface, the Earth's density is less than 3.0. In the core, the density is closer to 11.0.

Because it's so dense and heavy, if you somehow managed to drill into the core it would not come boiling up out of the ground, or blow up, or do much of anything at all. In fact, you would have to expend a tremendous amount of energy just to get a sample back up to the surface.

Drilling to the core isn't going to happen any time soon, by the way. Drilling technology has improved to the point that we can drill down several miles, but it's almost 4000 miles to the Earth's center. And you'd have to drill through a great depth of material that's so hot that it would melt your drilling equipment.

A wormhole has never been seen but in theory, they are funnels of time in space so that if you travelled through one it would send you to a different time in the universe. There is no telling what time it might send you to but it would definitely send you to one.

There would never be a wormhole so close top Earth because it has it's own laws of Physics which are to detailed to go into but if there was, the Earth would get sucked into a time gravitational vortex and be spat out in the exact same place as it entered just in a different time.

But this is just in theory. Wormholes have never been seen yet and even if they were that means you would have been sucked into it which means you wouldn't be able to tell anyone anyway.

And some say you would just burn up because of the radiations. though you could wear a protective kit that completely encloses you!

It would take about 42 minutes to fall through the earth. First, you would jump in the hole and you would be caught by the earth's core's gravity, increasing your speed. The rotation of the earth would cause you to fall erratically, bumping into the sides of the hole. After about 21 minutes, you would be at the earth's core, traveling about 18000 mph. Then, once past the core, you would begin to slow down and 21 minutes later, you would reach the other side of the earth. If no one was there to catch you, would fall back down the hole because of the earth's gravity.

You cannot reach the center of the earth, and stick a pin there. Even if you did, the heat would have cooked you long before you reach the center. (I am not sure if that's what you mean, but I hope so)
