I have to profoundly disagree with the above answer! I have owned 3 since my first brand new one in 1985, and currently drive a 1988 and I LOVE it. I get offers to sell it all the time and my answer is always, NO WAY! So I would have to say as to how many were made, though I don't know the actual number of how many were manufactured, MY answer would be NOT ENOUGH!
