As of 2005, MI has the second highest concentration of middle-eastern decendents (outside of the middle-east, behind Paris). But, that really doesn't answer your question...how about the US average is 1% of the population is Muslim, with a population of 10,095,643, that would be 100,956. Unfortunatly, the MI is well above average... According to Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services, MI has approx 170,000 Muslims. Which seems a little low because it is based off of studies in the 1990s. If you double that, to just over 300,000 - that would be an outstanding estimate, based off of population growth rate increases seen in recent years.
