I would also like to know the answer to this question. unfortunately i have only found numbers from the 90's. In 1994, there were about 500 NICU's in the united states. By 1999, that number had increased to 830.

If anyone knows the current number of NICU's, please chime in.

Also, if available, please post how many are level 2 and level 3 NICU's.
