1. The ex-USN aircraft carrier USS Card was sunk in a South Vietnam harbor by a communist sapper.

2. Approximately: 3 battleships (Utah, Arizona, Oklahoma); 69 PT boats; 10 cruisers; 80 destroyers; 11 aircraft carriers; 52 submarines were sunk in WWII. Didn't count the raised battleships as sunk since they were restored to service.

3. For target practice:

A) 9 Sherman class destroyers have been sunk

B) 5 Charles F. Adams class destroyers have been sunk

C) 18 Spruance class destroyers have been sunk

D) 4 battleships have been sunk (Arkansas, New York, Pennsylvania, and Nevada)
