This is actually a pretty difficult question, with a few different answers depending on how you approach the question.

Let's start with the United Kingdom. In the U.K, they released 12 full length albums, 12 EPs (short albums), 1 double EP (a short album, released as two records), and 24 singles, for a grand total of 49. In addition, many of their albums came in two different versions, mono and stereo. The stereo versions often sound markedly different than the mono versions.

If you're only talking about full-length studio albums on vinyl, there were 12 released in the U.K. although Magical Mystery Tour was later released on CD as a full-length album, bringing the total to 13.

In the United States, 19 full-length albums on vinyl were released, although most of these are hard to find.

Moving on to compact discs, it gets even more complicated. Every original U.K. studio album release is still availble on CD, so that's 12. Magical Mystery Tour was changed from an EP to a full length album in the eighties, making 13. Anthology 1, Anthology 2 and Anthology 3 add three more albums, making 16. Capitol Records 1 and Capitol Records 2, which have all the American Beatles songs, add another two CDs, making 18. Various other compilations include 1962-1966, 1967-1970, Live at the BBC, The Yellow Submarine Soundtrack, The Beatles 1, and Let it Be...Naked. Finally, there is Love, a remix of Beatles songs by Cirque de Soleil, which is considered official, for some odd reason. This makes for a grand total of 25 Beatles CDs.

The Beatles made two movies, "A Hard Day's Night" in 1964 and "Help!" in 1965, both starring well known English actors, and neither of which were award winning cinematic classics, but pleasantly enjoyable comedies as vehicles to further promote them to the world and to feature their latest songs from the albums of the same name. At about this time, there was also a series of short TV cartoons featuring the adventures of the animated Beatles and their music. In a period of self-indulgence, they produced "Magical Mystery Tour" in 1967, a fairly lack-lustre movie about a Magical Mystery Tour again featuring a variety of well known English actors and songs from their EP of the same name. In 1968, the same people who produced the Beatles TV cartoons, made "Yellow Submarine", a feature length movie of the animated Beatles liberating Pepperland from the evil clutches of the "Blue Meanies" all to the music of the recently released "Yellow Submarine" album including orchestral pieces from George Martin. The final effort commenced in 1969 with the filming of the recording of "Let It Be". This movie was actually titled "Get Back", but is possibly more commonly referred to as the "Roof Top Concert". The movie culminates with the roof top performance by the Beatles of some of the "Let It Be" tracks" and is closed down by the police. John Lennon starred in a movie entitled "How I Won the War". George Harrison was a major player in the "Hand Made Films" production company with the Monty Python crew. Full length, five. Hard Day's Night, Help!, Magical Mystery Tour, Yellow Submarine, Let It Be. Yellow Submarine was a cartoon featuring the Beatles music, in which they appeared only briefly at the end. As a group, they made short films of several songs, among them; Hey Jude, Rain, Paperback Writer, Strawberry Fields Forever, Penny Lane, Get Back, Revolution.
