Daily US consumption of oil.I do not know how many barrels of oil are consumed by cars each day, but according to the US Government's Energy Information Administration, the United States consumes about 400 million gallons (1.51 billion litres) of gasoline every day. That figure equates to about 20 million barrels of oil every day.

Actually according to the EIA webpage:

http://tonto.eia.doe.gov/dnav/pet/pet_cons_psup_dc_nus_mbblpd_a.htm

We consume 9.286 million barrels of oil per day for motor gasoline.

Actually, since you get 19.6 gallons of gasoline from every 42 gallon barrel of oil, the 20 million barrels of oil is the correct answer.
