He lost only one. It was The Battle of Gergovia. However, it was a minor lose. He lost 700 men, and the Gauls lost 300 men. He came back short after and destroyed the Gauls at The Battle of Alesia.

During the last civil wars of the Roman Republic Augustus did not lose any battles. When he became emperor his generals fought wars and battles on his behalf. The only defeat in that period was the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest, which was fought in Germania and in which three legions and their auxiliaries were defrayed by an alliance of Germanic peoples. The legions also lost their standard, which was considered as highly shameful by the Romans. The Romans had been pushing into Germania on the other bank of the river Rhine. After the defeat, Augustus decided to withdraw the frontier of the empire back to the river Rhine.
