There are two main sources for crossing the Chesapeake.
One is the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel that is at the mouth of the bay.
The terminus for each bridge/tunnel are Virginia Beach Virginia and Cape Charles Virginia on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.
There are separate bridges for South traffic and North traffic. When approaching either of the two tunnels the traffic is diverted into the tunnel and then separated again once out of the tunnel.
The othe bridge system is the Chesapeake Bay Bridge with terminus at Kent Island Maryland on the Eastern Shore side and Sandy Point State Park on the mainland of Maryland.
