Okay so here you go!
There are approximately 4-5 cups of batter in one cake mix.
For a half of a sheet cake, I use 3 cake mixes, so for a full, that's 6. You will have a little bit left over too.
Ok there are a few ways you can do this, but one is to find out how big the sheet cake is supposed to be, and how big a cake does one mix make? Eg, if one cake mix calls for a standard 12in by 12in cake pan and the sheet cake desired is 18in by 36in, then three mixes would make a cake 12 X 36, leaving 6 X 36, which would require 1 1/2 more cake mixes, for a total of 4 1/2 cake mixes.
For a sheet cake you can normally cover the whole top with about a can and a half of frosting depending on how thick the frosting is.
In most cases, one mix can easily fill a 12 inch pan.
About 2 boxed cake mixes.
Many people prefer the taste of "scratch" cakes. There are certainly far more interesting and creative cake recipes than boxed cake mixes. From a health perspective, cake mixes are full of chemicals, colorings and preservatives, making them imitation food at best.
you would need about 4 boxes of cake mix. it only depends on how many layers you are making. that is a basic of 2 layers each.

You will need about 1.5 boxed cake mixes, so it is best to prepare 2. Some tall cake pans will require 2 full cake mixes, too.
About 16 For a serving size of a 2"x2" piece Full Sheet: approx. 96 1/2 Sheet: approx. 49 1/4 Sheet: approx. 24 For a serving size of a 2"x3" piece Full Sheet: approx. 64 1/2 Sheet: approx. 32 1/4 Sheet: approx. 16
5-7 cups, generally chocolate cake mixes yield more and white mixes yield less
about 1 and a half
How deep is the pan? 2" or 3"? It makes a huge difference.
for an 14 in round cake pan, you only need 1 box
