It depends on the height, weight and age of said person. Calculate your BMR, which is basically how many calories you will burn if you stay in bed all day, if you're very active you're going to need more.

The amount of recommended calories per day varies depending on age, gender, height, weight, and level of activity. According to the 2010 Dietary Guidelines, the daily calorie intake for adult women should be between 1,600 and 2,400, depending on level of activity. For adult men it ranges from 2,000 to 3,000 a day.

The more active you are, the more calories are needed per day.

2800-3000 if very active
For boys age 11, 12, and teenagers:
2100-2500 if sedentary/not active
2500-2900 if moderately active
2800-3400 if active
3300-4000 if very active
For young children to maintain weight:
655 calories for 0-5 months
855 calories 5-12 months
1300 calories for 1-3 years
1800 calories for 4-6 years
1800-2000 calories for 7-10 years
