That depends. If He is lazy and sits at the computer all day or watches tv all day or can't physically exercise then not many. If he plays Basketball or runs then he may burn a lot. You need to burn about as many as you take in or else you are going to gain weight (fat). Hopefully if he takes in 2500 calories of food then he will burn around 2500 calories.
