How many cc's do a person over 200lbs need?

Answer

Welcome to the club, mate... :) I be over 90 meself, so there you go: that's a very subjective issue; It also depends, I suppose on your style. If you need infinite power in every situation at any rpm, you'll probably end up with a higher-end 1100cc or so bike. Which is nice, but also heavy as hell, and quite possibly bulky and/or gas-guzzling. If you're realistic about what is actually necessary for that weight, and you're not a particularly "throttle-itchy" person, something around 500cc might be quite enough. I'm currently riding an 535 V-twin, and let me tell you, most of the time on near-minimum throttle. Any time I really feel like more speed, the bike will quite pleasingly jam me in the seat if I seriously open the throttle, even at higher speeds. That being said, a 200-300cc bike would more than be able to haul the sheer weight around, quite happily. But if you've ridden anything bigger than a 125cc, it WILL seem like not-quite-enough power. Trust me on that one.
