If the child has stopped breathing and has no pulse American Heart Association CPR states 30 compressions for every 2 breaths for a child ages 1 years of age to Puberty.
If the child has stopped breathing, you want to make sure that there is no pulse before starting CPR. If a pulse is still present, check to see if there are any visible airway obstructions first (toys, foreign objects), if so safely remove object, do not blindly stick finger down child throat, if not give assisted ventilations.
2010 AHA guidelines now require at least 100 compressions per minute, however you can do more. The best option is 100-120 compressions per minute. It is the same for infants children and adults.
30 compression to 2 breaths. (= 1 cycle)
Approx 5 cycles per 2 min
= 75 compressions/min and 5 breaths/min average
=300 compressions & 20 breaths.
Knowing that the compression speed is 100/min (so would be 400) but that there is a break for breaths, this seems reasonable.
Give 30 compressions, then 2 breaths. Repeat cycles of compressions and breaths.
Give compressions at a rate of 100 compression per min.
Give 30 compressions to 2 breaths for child CPR.
Chest compressions for a child during CPR is 30 compressions to 2 breaths.
1 cycle of CPR for a child consists of 30 compressions to 2 breaths.
100
For 1-person CPR; Adult, Child, and Infant: 30 compressions : 2 breaths. For 2-person CPR; Adult is: 30 compressions : 2 breaths. For 2-person CPR; Child, and Infant: 15 compressions : 2 breaths.
15 compressions to 2 breaths for 2-rescuer child CPR.
The ratio of compressions to ventilation's in child CPR is 30 compressions to 2 breaths.
Infant, Child, Adult CPR all the same cycle/rate; 30 compressions, 2 breaths.
Child CPR consist of 30 compressions to 2 breaths.
When two rescuers are preforming CPR on a child, the compression to breath ratio is 15:2. That is 15 compressions 1-1.5" deep at a rate of 100 compressions a min. Each rescue breath should last about one second and make the chest clearly rise. The cycle is then repeated, fifteen compressions and two breaths. The rescuers should change positions about every 2min or about 10 cycles.
It is the same for 1-rescuer CPR Adult, Child, and Infant: 2 ventilations to 30 compressions.
Adult, Child, Infant 1-rescuer CPR is 30 Compressions : 2 Breaths.
Perform Adult CPR by 30 chest compressions to 2 breaths.
Thirty compressions and two breaths per cycle.
