*In addition to the number of credit hours, the student must be currently enrolled in a program that constitutes the appropriate class level. For example, to be considered a junior, the student must be enrolled in a bachelor's degree program and have already completed an associate's degree or its equivalent.
Academic Standing

The average is 30 credits. Once you acquire 30 credits, you move from the freshmen classification to the sophomore classification which is the second year of college. Who is considered a junior in college?A full college schedule requires 15 credit hours per semester, 30 credits per scholastic year: thus a sophomore would have earned 60 credits and a student carrying credit hours in excess of 60 credit hours would be conisdered a junior in college.
