This depends on each beardie specifically. what i was told was release the crickets little by little into the tank, waiting until he fully eats each batch. count how many he eats before he seems less interested in eating, and that's generally how much they should be fed, the general rule that i was told was to feed them until they are no longer hungry. be forewarned though, this number is bound to go up as your dragon grows. i would repeat this test every two weeks to keep track of his eating habits.

Baby beardies can eat up to 50 crickets a day. While the adult beardies eat less crickets and more veggies. I personally feed my 6 month old dragon twice a day. I give him around 20 small crickets at a time. Whatever he feels like eating at the time. He does very well with our schedule. I feed him at 11:00am and 7pm. I feed him at 7 and his light goes out at 10pm, that way he has 3 hours for the light to help him digest his food.

A baby under 6 months should be fed 2 times a day as stated above. It is best to give him as many crickets as he can eat in a 10 minute period of time. Crickets should be no bigger than the space between his eyes. Anything larger can impact him. I have gone through 75 crickets in a day with a baby. Once 6 months you can cut the routine to once a day and an adult 18 months can eat live feed every other day. Adult crickets and they should get about 60-80 per week.

according to the Long Island Herpetological Society of Lindenhurst, NY

"Twice weekly (e.g., Sunday and Thursday) feed protein. Pick from one of the following:

* One to two dozen 3/4 to adult crickets depending on the size of the beardie (12 for a 250g dragon to 24 for a 500g dragon)

* 8 to 16 large superworms (zoophobas), again depending on size

* Two or three 3/4 grown to adult roaches"

It all depends on size (and never feed it any incests larger than the space between its eyes). For 2-4 in lizards, they should get 2-3 crickets, and a small salad. for 5-7 in lizards, at least 5-7 a day, don't forget the salad. For 8-12 inchers, you should move up to cockroaches. But, if you insist on sticking to crickets, they should get 10-14 crickets a day, or 3-4 cockroaches, and a salad. Basically, one cricket for every inch long and across it's back horizontally (For cockroaches, divide those lengths by three.).

How should an adult bearded dragon be fed daily if its fed a pinky once a month should the crickets still be fed daily except for the week of the pinky feeding or no?

The pinky is simply a 'treat' on top of its normal diet. Although you don't have to feed it on pinkies, if you are - feed it the pinky first, then 'top up' with a few crickets.

How many times a week can you groom a bearded dragon?

This question worries me as your bearded dragon should be fed every day! The petshops feed them every other day but if you would like your beardie to maintain a healthy diet, you really should be feeding him/her daily with fruit and veg along with some live food like crickets.

How many crickets should a 2 year old bearded dragon eat a day?

about 32 two or three times a week. with a daily salad of dark greens veggies and fruit. no iceburg though. gives the beardie the runs and dehydrates them.

Can you feed a bearded dragon squash?

Yes if it's chopped up in small enough peaces they will eat but only about two pieces

How often do you feed a bearded dragon fruits and vegies?

As a baby their diet should be 70% live food 30% fruits and veggies. As an adult it switches to the opposite. The prefer veggies to fruit, and mostly greens. Always leave meal worms and veggies out so they have a choice and feed them crickets 2x daily. All food should be no bigger than the space between their eyes.

Will a bearded dragon make a whole room smell?

No, Bearded Dragons themselves do not smell bad. Bearded Dragon feaces do smell however and that's why they need to be removed from the tank straight away. Depending what your Bearded Dragon eats can also affect the feaces smell. For example cockroaches or woodies smell worse than when they eat crickets. It's not an over powering smell and it doesn't smell straight away, only if the feaces isn't removed and the tank is not regularly cleaned and sand replaced.

What to feed your baby bearded dragon?

The best diet for a baby bearded dragon is what they call "pinhead crickets" which are basically really tiny crickets. They also need fresh greens like romaine lettuce and need to be misted several times a day for the first couple of weeks after they are hatched. As they get bigger they stop needing to be misted because they get moisture from their greens. You may also want to think about a calcium supplement powder to sprinkle onto the crickets as well as the greens. The most important thing to remember about bearded dragons is that they are desert lizards and need high heat as well as high levels of UVB light to thrive. If they do not have both of these they will die.

How many crickets do baby bearded dragons eat?

It all depends on the sizes of the crickets, so I'll make large ones "A)" and small ones "B)". When they are new borns, they should get A) 1-2 a day and B) 2-4 a day. Never feed them anything much larger than the space between their eyes (if food is long horizontally long but vertically short and vice verca, it should be OK). With each half inch longer the baby grows, it needs B) one or two more in it's daily diet. Or, A), one or two more a day with every FULL inch. Hope it helped

Why does your bearded dragon constantly pace?

Mine don't. If yours is, double check your vivarium temperatures. Ensure your Beardie has suitable basking and hiding areas. Ensure it is not hungry. Ensure there are no mealworms, crickets, beetles, etc, hiding under the substrate, which could be causing it irritation. Take it from it's vivarium daily, to socialise.

What to feed a 21 mouth old beared dragon?

By this age it should be full grown, so give it as many crickets as it'll eat in 10-15 minutes and offer Collards, Mustard Greens, and/or Dandelion Greens daily.

How many cricket do does a bearded dragon need daily?

if it's a full grown adult, I say about 5 each day, but check what other people just incase.

How often should you feed your bearded dragon?

depends.... If its a baby it should eat once a day If its a adult it should eat every other day. ANSWER. Feed your dragon every day, Feed them Crickets, and other bugs and also salads. it is important to balance their diet. There is a huge selection of 'leafy' greens which are high in calcium to feed your Dragon, some of which are... kale, argula, collard & mustard greens, parsley, dandelion greens and flowers, endives, radish, carrot and turnip tops, escarole and chicory endive. For more of a variety, mixed into the greens may be many other veggies such as squash, corn, peas, carrots (shredded), sweet potato, cucumber, zucchini, green peppers, chard... also chopped fruit such as cantaloupe, apple, blueberries, peaches, pears, grapes, plums, raspberries... all chopped finely to avoid choking. The main idea in their diet is variety.**Do not feed your dragons iceberg lettuce as is has very little nutritional value and may give the dragon the 'runs' - prompting dehydration. Dragons will also munch on other greens. If you take your dragon outside or allow it to roam about the house - please be sure to check that the possible munchies are not poisonous A hatchling should be fed 2-3 times a day as many crickets as he can eat in a 10 minute period. Once 6 months old you can do the same butonly once a day. An adult (12-18 months) should get live feed every other day so they are getting about 60-80 crickets a week. If you are using superworms about 40-50 per week. Every dragon should be given fresh veggies every day. An adult diet should be about 80% veggie/fruit. Be careful what you give though. SOme of the suggestions above should not be a part of a staple in the diet but can be given occasionally. Please read www.beautifuldragons.com and click on nutrition for a full list of foods that are good and bad for them. Always dust your live feeders with calcium powder once a day 5-6 days a week and vitamin once a week. An adult dragon can have calcium 3 times a week. A female who is pregnant or is producing eggs should get calcium every day.
