How many cups are in a pound of powdered sugar?

There are 8 oz in a cup 16 oz in a pound ... that applies to liquid water, not powdered sugar. There are approximately 3 3/4 cups of Powdered sugar in a pound.

This is very strange. I checked the back of a box of C & H powdered sugar and it said there were 15 "servings" per box, each a quarter of a pound, so according to that box, 3 3/4 cups per pound....
