How many days do Australian students have on holiday?

Answer:
In most states of Australia, state schools have six weeks of holidays at the end of the year, during summer, one week at Easter, two weeks in June-July and two weeks in September-October, and about a week's worth of pupil-free days at various times through the year. This works out to 55-58 school days in total, not counting public holidays.

However, many private schools have longer holidays, with some schools offering closer to 14 weeks' holiday through the year. Therefore, on average, school children get between 55 and 70 days' holiday.
