1976,The Who were listed as the "record holder", at 126 dB, measured at a distance of 32 meters from the speakers at a concert at Charlton Athletic Football Ground on 31 May 1976. 1984,94 and 2008The heavy metal band Manowar is one claimant of the title of "loudest band in the world", citing a measurement of 129.5 dB in 1994 in Hanover. However, Guiness Book of World Records listed Manowar as the record holder for the loudest musical performance for an earlier performance in 1984. Guinness does not recognize Manowar's later claim, because it no longer includes a category of loudest band, reportedly because it does not want to encourage hearing damage. Manowar broke their own record again in 2008 at the Magic Circle Fest with 139dB. 1997,Metallica has styled itself the "loudest band in the world". However, after one concert on 11 November 1997, which the band dubbed the "Million Decibel March", the Philidephia Inquirer reported that "neighbors who [had] feared the worst from the self-styled Loudest Band in the World complained more about the sound from the news choppers circling overhead". 2007,British punk band Gallows allegedly broke Manowar's previous record for loudest band in the world, claiming to have achieved 132.5 dB; however, this record was claimed in an isolated Studio environment as opposed to live.On July 15, 2009, at the Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest in Ottawa, Canada, the band KISS achieved a SPL (sound pressure level) of 136 dB measured by City of Ottawa Bylaw officers at the sound tent during their live performance (not the sound check), making it the world's loudest performance officially measured by any band. After noise complaints from neighbors in the area, the band was forced to turn the volume down.
At the ear of the conductor there could be measured a sound pressure level of 100 dBSPL. At the ear of a listener far away the level must be less. We got the distance law 1/r for the sound pressure.
A typical rock concert is about 115 decibels. Pain in the human ear begins around 125dB and one of the loudest documented rock concerts ever had a dB level of 132.5.
Depends on the concert....
Many shows/concerts I do sound for have reached 108db but the average seems to be around 115db. In the first few rows, you could probably record just over 120db and anyone who says that they can be around 140db is probably lying and haven't done the research.
135 db ... the loudest crowd ever recorded at any event was 137 db at Qwest field during 2005 NFC championship game
Close to a loudspeaker is can be 130 dB (The threshold of pain). If you stand not too close, it will be better for you ears.
As Metallica is a rock/metal band, they're concerts are pretty loud. They're electric Guitars are considerably loud as well.
Its not that loud
Probably around 30,000 people...
A drum kit is no decibels. The decibels depends how close you measure to the bat. The closer - the louder! And the louder you play the more decibels you get. The distance is very important if you measure with a sound pressure level meter.
127 decibels
Between 1 and 20db
It depends on how loud it's being played.
165dB
180 decibels is the loudest. only if all equiptment is on at the same time.
Probably around 30,000 people...
The clicking sound of a sperm whale, is the loudest sound known of any animal on earth. At approximately 230 decibels, it can be heard for many miles underwater.
20 decibels
207 decibels.
70-100 decibels
20 to 50 decibels (dB).
85 decibels maximum.
in what
Based on the category in which your question is posted, I supposed you are inquiring as to the loudest animal in the world.Blue Whales are not only the largest animals alive, but they are the loudest as well. To get an idea of how loud they are, there are a few basic comparisons in decibels. A normal conversation between two people is between 60 and 70 decibels. That's not very loud, considering the human ear's threshold for pain is between 120 and 130 decibels. A jet engine runs about 140 decibels, while Rock Music peaks at 150 decibels. Quite loud. However, the Blue Whale is even louder. The Blue Whales call can reach up to 188 decibels."Blue Whales mostly emit very loud, highly structured, repetitive low-frequency rumbling sounds that can travel for many miles underwater. These songs may be used for communicating with others Blue Whales, especially in order to attract and find mates" (EnchantedLearning, 1996-2009).EnchantedLearning.com (1996-2009). 130 decibels -140 decibels close up maybe louder though
