There are many different kinds of dragons, how many there are I have no idea. Here are a few. Some of theses are not always considered a 'dragon' the Basilisk (who can shape-shift), gargoyle (most are considered stone statues), and the Hydra are usually not called dragons, so you may want to avoid calling them that, but then again it is up to you. They could both be classified as dragons.

  • European Dragon
  • Frost Dragon
  • Dwarf Dragon
  • Basilisk
  • Chinese Lung
  • Japanese Lung
  • Imperial Chinese Lung
  • Korean Lung
  • Tibetan Dragon
  • Wyvren
  • Hydra
  • Gargoyle
  • Fire dragon
  • Sea dragon
  • Cockatrice
  • Leviathan
  • Water Dragon
  • Sun and Moon Dragon
  • Sand Dragon
  • Lightning Dragon
  • Snake Dragon
  • Stone Dragon
  • Copper, Silver, Brass, Bronze, and Gold Dragons

You're only right about a select few on your list, the rest are not even related to us at all. The only ones in your list that are true dragons are actually the most obvious: Chinese, Japanese, Wyvern (you misspelled it), and (yours truly) European. All other ones in your list are either not dragons at all, not true species (fall into a different category), non-existent, or eliminated (extinct). I'm not joking. I'm a master on the topic, of course, since I happen to be a dragon myself.

Each culture around the world had their own belief of what a dragon looked like. There was an eposode on either the Discovery Channel or History Channel about that. All I remember is the Chinese believed in water dragons.

Well, I don't think any person knows the exact number, but there are a lot. There are more [lets say] vampire stories than dragons. Of course, I am very interested in mythology and folklore, so I might write one or two myself. There are [of course] myths about dragons, you could call them 'legends.' I would like to believe dragons are real, but right now we have only found out their mythical. There are more tales about fire-breathing dragons I think.... (:- Have a nice day/night! To who ever wrote that... I do believe dragons exist and thnx for the answer!
