Son of Sam killed the same number of people but he was a serial killer. Most female serial killers are suffering from munchousen by proxy. The others are in almost always involved with male serial killers, or they kill men who remind them of their male abusers. Women make up approximately 51% of the earths population, they represent less then half of that percentile in murders. And less then half that percentile of serial killers. At any given time there are approximately 300 serial killers operating in the USA. Statistically speaking, only, about 10 of those are women. Almost all serial killers are are white males between 18&45 So most serial killer profiles begin with that group of people. That is unless the victims are children or men that died of poisoning or genital mutilation.

∙ 12y agoVronsky lists 140. The Unknown History of MISANDRY"Female Serial Killer Index," however, includes a great many more that are not on Vronsky's list. No thorough study of pre-1970s female serial killers has ever been conducted, but the latest total of known FSKs is close to 400. 1925 was a big year for FSKs. One US newspaper article even has pictures of 3 FSKs featured in concuurrent prosecutions: Wise, Sorenson & Cunningham.

Countess Elizabeth Bathory born in 1560
Delphine LaLaurie born in 1775
Mary Ann Cotton was born in 1832
Amelia Elizabeth Dyer born in 1838
Belle Sorenson Gunness born in 1859-Her killings spree were from 1900 to 1908
thus bringing the 20th century female serial in view.
Madame Popova born in 1879 and executed in 1909.
After that we have the serial killers after the 1900s.

They had what she wanted/needed so she took it. (money, car) These are just examples, and of course there are always exceptions to the rules but this gives a good idea of women killers.
