The "Genome" refers to the collection of things you seem to be attempting to refer to, my undereducated friend. The genome is actually a name used to refer to every existent gene. Genes are a device used by the cells of your body to replicate themselves: an extensible information storage system. Basically, genes say, "Grow an arm here and at this time" and such things. They predetermine function and growth of the body. A "gene" is actually the name used to refer to the average strand of DNA, or a "zipped up" pair of chromosomes- which i believe you were attempting to refer to in the question. No one has the same genes: they are all different in everyone. When combined with information stored in the brain, the Nature that is DNA"maps out" the body and some aspects of the mind, if there's one there, of a person, other animal, plant, or microorganism. And to answer your question, The Roundworm has 2 chromosomes- or if you count them as pairs, 4.
