How many golf balls do you usually use in a golf game on average?

Answer:
A professional golfer, maybe two per game at most.
For the amateur, perhaps up to a half dozen if one is prone to hitting into out of bounds and/or water hazards where retrieving the ball is impossible.

or

A professional golfer will use around 4-6 per round, this is because the covers of the balls are so soft and the grooves are so sharp that the cover gets cut very easy which is not desirable. But they will not necessarily lose many. An amateur could use anything from 1 to about 10, there is no set number, but there is a higher chance they will lose balls, as above.
