carbohydrates have about 4 calories per gram
protein also has about 4 calories per gram
so, fat does contain more calories than any other type of nutrient, but some fats (monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats found in olives, nuts, natural peanut butter, salmon, etc.) are good in moderate amounts and may help reduce cholesterol. saturated fats are found in animal products and contain cholesterol which is not healthy. trans fats are the worst kinds of fats and can be found in foods containing "hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils". to answer your question, there is no set amount of fats that you should consume to lose weight, but as long as you reduce your calorie intake (try to consume about 1200 to 1500 calories per day) you will lose weight.


Furthermore recent studies have suggested that chili peppers can help burn an additional 270-290 calories per day, when taken regularly for 30 days.
