A normal steer that weighs 1200 pounds will yield about 350 pounds of meat in steaks, roasts, etc. You could make ground beef out of all of that, or just the trimmings. If you use only the trimmings, then you would get about 75 pounds of ground beef. If each burger weighs 4 ounces, that is 300 burgers. It would be 1200 burgers if you ground up the entire animal as you would lose some weight to de-boning roasts, etc.

Sources for the average weight of a cow differ according to breed and location. Basing the answer on a cow weighing 600kg, 1320 lbs: half of that weight is removed in processing (at the slaughterhouse) so we're down to 300kg 1160lbs another third of that is bone and fat and cartilaginous materiel down to 200kg 440lbs Theoretically this weight could be used to make Hamburgers, now given that many store bought burgers are about 85% beef that would give us around... 2024 1/4 pounder hamburgers per cow! of course if you are talking about certain fast food outlet burgers they use more of the cow parts for their 100% beefhamburgers so you would get a different total again.

I'm afraid this can't be answered. As you know, not all cows are exactly the same size--even a difference of a few pounds would make an enormous difference in the number of Hot Dogs! Also, not all hot dogs are exactly the same size. Check at your grocery store and you'll see!And many hot dog manufacturers use "fillers"--in other words, non-meat extenders such as soy protein, grain products, etc.--so different manufacturers have different amounts of meat in, say, one ounce of hot dog.
