General portion rule for meat is 1/4 pound per person. For 70 people that means approximately 18 pounds of meat. For 1/3 pound burgers, you'd need approximately 24 pounds of meat. For 1/2 pound burgers, you'd need approximately 35 pounds of meat.
Plus, of course, you still need to add bread crumbs, eggs and any seasoning/s.
