depends. a female mouse, as well as a female rat, go into "heat" once a week every week for 12 hours. and they can go into heat, within 5 hours after labor, and yes they can get pregnant again.
They can give birth to as many as 40 pups per year, and those progeny can start having babies about 8 weeks later each producing up to 10 litters per year.
