How many miles should the timing belt be replaced for an Accent 2001?

[Edit]

Answer

Read your owner's manual. If you do not have one then get one or replace it at 80,000 miles.

Answer

For the 1.6 engine the interval is 60,000 miles for the belt.

Answer

bob barnes here..on my old 90 excel, it is a non interference engine. this means if the belt breaks. no internal damage should be done to motor. therefore, milage is usually not rated on that type engine. however, if you replace it yourself, do it before it breaks. they may run about a maximum of 90 thou. miles...beyound that you will get stranded. the 1.5 IS a good little engine.
