no because the wavelength of the waves are too short for us to see

What does a chest x-ray detect?
it shows broken bones or fractures

When is a chest x-ray indicated?
If you are having any of the following: Shortness of breath, Chest pain on exertion, Suspected chest infection, Persistant or productive cough. They should not be done to view fractured ribs.

Where are chest x rays taken?
A physician's office, an outpatient radiology facility or hospital radiology department. In some cases, particularly for patients who cannot get out of bed, a portable chest x ray may be taken.
