6.022 x 1023 molecules are in a mole.

12 molecules are in a dozen.

6.022 x 1023 atoms are in a mole.

12 atoms are in a dozen.

6.022 x 1023 eggs are in a mole.

12 eggs are in a dozen.

A mole is like a dozen. I hope the examples above explain the concept. You may message me if you need any further clarification.

It depends on the molecule. I mole of contains 6.022 x 1023 molecules. So if the molecule was Mg which is also an atom - there would be

Mg 6.022 x 1023

If the molecule was H2 then there would be 6.022 x 1023 x 2 = 1.2044 x 1024

If the molcule was H2O then there would be 6.022 x 1023 x 3 = 1.8066 x 1024

If the molcule was H2O2 then there would be 6.022 x 1023 x 4 = 2.4088 x 1024

etc.

Avogadro's Number is the number of molecules in one mole (6.022 x 10^23)

8.71x10^22 molecules / 6.022 x 10^23 moles per mole = 1.446 x 10^-1 moles (0.1446 moles of CH4)

each molecule of CH4 contains 4 hydrogen atoms, so 4 x 8.71 x 10^22 = 3.484 x 10^23 atoms of H

3.484x10^23/6.022 x 10^23 = 0.5784 moles of H, or

0.1446 moles of CH4 x 4 = 0.5784 moles of H
