There is no one correct answer to this question, it will depend on whether the page is hand written on college rule or regular paper, or if it is typed single or double spaced. Is the writers style to use many small words or large words.
To get an average - count the number of words in five lines then multiply that number by the number of times there are five lines on the paper. For example if there are 30 lines on the page and 50 words written in five lines multiply 50 times 6 to find an average of 300 words on the page. (30 divided by 5 equals 6, 6 times 50 equals 300.)
It depends on who you're writing it for. Roughly a paragraph, usually, which is at least 5 sentences, though I'd go longer than that. I'd say at the very least have 150 words, but a bit longer than that would be nice.
An essay is usually double-spaced with 1 inch margins on all sides. Depending on the font used this generally yields 250-280 words per page (a serifed 12-point font is most common).
Using standard sized paper, 200 words will usually fit on one page double spaced.
normally around 500 - 700 words. It depends how big you write.
250 with Times New Roman 12 point font on average.
it depends on how many words are used.

Example#2: 500 word essay. You would write a 500 word essay.

The numbers vary depending of the length of the definition of each word and on the size of the dictionary. Generally speaking, there are either one or two per page. If there's one, it's the first one one one page and the last one on the next page.
They are the one or two words at the very top of the page, which indicate what the contents of that page are.
Depends on the size of the page and the font, but for type written text around 300 words is one A4 page, so 250 words is slightly less than one page.
It depends entirely on your writing -- how large your words are. If you type it out, one page is around 250 words, but how many handwritten words depends on what size your writing is.
