Most people with understanding believe in some power greater than themselves. There are very few who only believe in themselves as their own source of power.
To believe in a God gives them security,someone or something to turn to when all others fail them. Though they may not believe in the true God, but in some other object or source which they believe will harken to their prayers the true God will always listen to them. Ignorance in a true and living God is not the fault of the individual but a lack of knowledge.
