The average is like 1.2, but now one only dies every week or so. There have been around 4,000 deaths and the war has lasted ten years, most casualties are from the first few months. That is for U.S. soldiers. If you are also counting Pakistani forces (allied) NATO, and British, then it could be a little higher.
If your countign terrorists than it is probably pretty high, maybe 20 or so.
This question in irrelevant. Soldiers can die or live, it all depends on the location of the war, their training, weapons, presence of disease, natural disaster and pure luck. Not to mention general tactics like bunching up, that doesn't help.
The numbers varied from day to day, but the total so far has been over 3100. That's since 2003, so on average 3 or 4 per day. Some days, none; some days, dozens. There was one example when a USAF helicopter was shot down with the loss of the entire crew and passengers, over 20 people.
