How many people died when mt laki in Iceland erupted in 1783?

Answer:
At least 10.000-15.000 people died in Iceland, and Cold weather caused by the eruption killed lots lots more people in Europe, and there's also evidence that the Laki eruption had effects beyond Europe. A huge snowstorm hit the southern States, the Mississippi River froze at New Orleans, there was ice in the Gulf of Mexico, and low flow in the River Nile. It may also have exacerbated the Tenmei famine in Japan.
