Number of Players on a Volleyball Team

In indoor volleyball, each team has six players on the court at a time. This is true at the high school, college, Olympic and professional level.

This does not apply to beach volleyball. Most beach volleyball teams only have two players per team, at least at the professional and Olympic level. Recreational or amateur beach volleyball can consist of it has two person four person and six person teams which has to have two females or two males at one time and if you don't have two females or males you will lose the game as a way of forfeit your game
