How many processes should be on a computer with XP home edition at any one time and should there be duplicates?

Answer

If you are running XP Home, you should only have the need for one CPU. If you have a newer computer it may show 2 processors if you have an Intel processer with HT (HyperThreading) this allows Windows XP to act is if it has the resources of two processors when in reality it only has one physical CPU.
