The Przewalski never did go completely extinct. they were bred in zoos and re-released back into their homelands. The Tarpan on the other hand went completely extinct but they have 'recreated' the breed and released it into the wild.
Przewalski's horses are wild horses that not many people have tamed in the past. They are thousands of years old and are extremely untame :) Have fun ~Laura~
Many countries have wild horses. However, the only true indigenous native horses are found in central Asia, specifically Mongolia. These horses are called the Przewalski's horse.
They have one foal at a time per year like all other horses :):) xx
the same as all other horses 1 or very rarely 2
Because they still live in the wild an roam free, and all other horses don't though some are bred in zoos.
There are about 2000 in total. 1500 in zoos and 400 in the wild. They are currently listed as Endangered on the ICUN Red List.
There are only about 2,000 przewalski's horses left in zoos, and there are only about 1,200 left i the wild. they are the last kind of truly wild horse, because there may be hundreds of breeds of wild horses out in the wild, but they were horses genetically bred by man then let go into the wild on accident or on purpose. all the other true wild horses made by nature died out thousands of years ago, now the only remaining breed is the przewalski's horse. they are being bred in captivity now because they are trying to get the breeds number back up, but very few of them are still wind today. This species acually came from being extinct to being endangered. These wild horses were once hunted for their meat and has lost much of their natural habitat to grazing domestic animals. The last true wild horse was seen in 1968, and it may be extinct. Many of the remaining horses are found in zoos although they have lost some of their distinct features due to cross breeding and domestication. Some of these breeds were reintroduced into Mongolian national parks, and in 2005, the wild population was estimated at about 300 animals.

No, they are not the only true wild horses left in the US. There are many Mustangs still left wild out in the west even though once a year or so huge groups are rounded up out west to help control the population because the numbers seem to increasingly grow. yes they are, mustangs come from domesticated horses that were loose and let free
There are wild horses practically everywhere horses are ridden. There the odd few that get away on people or are lost and turned to the wild in addition to the mustangs. If you ever hav a minute google Sable Island. It is a island near Newfoundland Canada Where no humans are allowed to go. It is strictly a wild horse island.
